Muay Thai Kick Boxer Fortifies Sports and Leisure Destination Facility in Thailand
The battle to become Asia’s top international sports destination just became more difficult as Phuket International Academy Sports and Leisure Club (PIASLC) has named former Muay Thai champion “Thanootong’’ Prasert Intanoo to head the martial arts program at the sprawling Phuket, Thailand sports centre. Just as muay thai kickboxing stesses perseverance and talent, the appointment is another example of the PIASLC bringing in leading specialists to work at the emerging impressive facility and help place it as the first choice sports and leisure destination in Asia.
The Phuket International Academy Sports and Leisure Club (PIASLC) complex has programmes attractive to just about anyone including highly competitive athletes, residents, visitors and children. Swimming, track, rugby, football (soccer), strength training, tennis and much more are on offer now or arriving soon at what is emerging as the standard as a regional destination for sports, arts and wellness in Thailand and Asia, and quite possibly the world.
The PIASLCincludes almost a dozen specialized sports academies. The new appointmentof Prasert Intanoo should push the Martial Arts Academy to international attention. The PIA Aquatics Academy and the Football Academy have already established themselves as premier programmes. The Football Academy features the successful Brazilian Soccer School (BSS). Now Muay Thai joins the top-rated youth soccer training programme available at the best sports and recreation facility in Southeast Asia.
Former Thailand national flyweight champ Khun Prasert was a Muay Thai professional boxer for 15 years with an distinguished record of seventy victories. He graduated from Taksin University in Songkhla Province with a degree in physical education. He went on to work for Marriot as a Muay Thai trainer, and in his role as Recreation Supervisor directed wellness, corporate teambuilding and kid’s zone activities. Khun “Nok” (his Thai nickname) is also a qualified Pilates instructor and certified by the Thai Yoga Institute as an instructor.
The PIASLC is a component of the Phuket International Academy (PIA). PIA is a revolutionary sports, education, arts and wellness complex sited in Phuket, Thailand. It is comprised of three synergistic centres: the PIA Day School, the PIA Sports and Leisure Club, and the PIA Mind Centre.
